What is Rota Skip
A Drum, not a Box.
Most trailer skips are a steel box tipped by a hydraulic ram — heavy to build, expensive to maintain, and awkward to unload once the back gate jams or the ram wears out.
Rota Skip replaces the box with a half-cylindrical steel drum, pinned at the centre of its diameter so it turns on its own axis. Battery operated, a remote control activates the rotation to the desired angle and it almost empties itself in one motion — no ram, no gate, and far less that can go wrong in the field.

The drum
Rotates, doesn't tip
A half-cylindrical steel drum pinned at the mid-point of its diameter and carried on a heavy-duty bearing. Turning the drum empties the load directly — there’s no back gate to jam and no ram stroke to line up.
The drive
Electro-mechanical, not hydraulic
A remote controlled electro-mechanical winch does the job a hydraulic ram normally does. It’s simpler to build, cheaper to maintain, and there’s no hydraulic fluid to leak or top up
The trailer
Built to tow, not just to sit
A purpose-built braked trailer with A-frame drum supports, jockey wheel, breakaway system and lighting — engineered and load-tested to carry the drum safely at towing speed, on-road or off.

Rota Skip has been through a formal, ongoing research and development program since January 2022, with a working 2-tonne prototype load-tested and a redesigned 4.5-tonne version — with air-bag suspension and an interchangeable plant platform — in development. The Rota Skip® name is a registered trade mark with IP Australia (registered 14 November 2022), and the patent covering the rotating-drum mechanism has been approved.
